      A representative from Sherpa Expedition & Trekking will be there to meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel.

      Today, or early tomorrow we will have a pre-trek meeting where you will have an opportunity to ask questions concerning the trek, and will also be introduced to your guide. Please bring your passport, 3 passport size photos and a copy of your travel insurance policy. This is also the time to clear up outstanding fees.

      After breakfast we will visit many historical and well known sites in Kathmandu. Our guide will take you to the famous Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most holy Hindu temples in the world: The pagoda-shaped temple of Lord Shiva is visited by thousands of people every year. We will also visit the Bouddhanath Stupa a place where pilgrims โ€“ both Buddhist and Hindu. This is one of the major Buddhist shrines in the world. Another place we visit is the famous Swayambhunath Temple โ€“ also known as the monkey temple. Finally, we get to see the well known Durbar Square with its unique architecture and temples. For the remainder of the day you may wish to wander around Thamel and catch up on some last minute shopping before heading off on your trek.

      This morning we will collect you from your hotel and head to the airport for a morning flight to Bhadrapur. From Bhadrapur we will driver for around seven to eight hours to Suketar Village. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included.

      Today, immediately after breakfast, we hit the trail and start off with a relatively easy four to five-hour trek to Lali Kharka Village, passing through dense forest along the way. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included.

      Again, we finish our breakfast and take to the trail with an easy downhill trek until we reach Simbu Village. From Simbu we have a steep ascent until Kande Bhanjyang Village. The trail will take us through forests and several villages prior to arriving at Kande Bhanjyang. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included.

      We will cross a steep hillside through terraced farmland while looking down to the Kabbeli Khola (river). The trail is quite undulating, but with ample time on our hands, we will stop for rest breaks when necessary. After our lunch break, we pass through Anpan Village and then head down to the Kashawa Khola (river) and then ascend through cultivated farmlands until w reach the village of Phumphe Danda. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included.

      We follow the trail along the hills above the Kabeli Khola (river), and eventually arrive at a more level terrain a few hours prior to arriving at Yamphudin Village. There is a small river before Yamphudin where we can refresh and stop for lunch. Yamphudin is truly a very remote place and is the last village before reaching Ghunsa.       As we continue we will notice the absence of villages and signs of life as we trek through the forests. On the trail, we will be blessed with numerous views of the Himalayan Mountains. We continue along a trail next to the Amji Khola (river) and cross a pass at Lassiya Bhanjyang before reaching Tortong Village. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included.

      Today we trek through conifer and rhododendron forests and then make a steep descent to the valley of the Simjua Khola (river). The trail takes us across the base of the Yalung Glacier and through several valleys, past crystal clear streams and a frozen lake. At this altitude, we have some spectacular views of Koktang, Rathong, and Kabru peaks. You will notice the higher altitude taking its toll on your strength today. Breakfast Lunch & Dinner included.

      On the trail today we get our first glimpse of the enormous Mt. Kanchenjunga and Jannu. We then head across the Yalung Glacier and then across a sweeping slope to Oktang (4,730m). Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included.

      After leaving Oktang we ascend higher to reach Yalung Base Camp. At these higher altitudes, the crossing of several passes will be more tiring. A lot here depends on the weather that can often make it more difficult. There is a distinct advantage of trekking at this altitude, and that is the more impressive views of Mt. Kumbakarna (Jannu), Nyukla Lachung and other snow-covered Himalayan peaks. We will, after a rest period, head back to Ramche Village for the night. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included.

      The trail down from the Yalung Glaciers and through a number of valleys is absolutely stunning, along with the crystal clear waters from streams cascading down the mountain. After a couple of days at Ramche Village, we will head on to Cheram Village. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included.

      Trekking down through the valley we skip the alternative more difficult route that leads to Lapsang La Pass and on to Ghunsa heading around the north side of Kanchenjunga. Instead, we take the southern route through Mirgin La Pass. The trail is steep and physically punishing, but eventually, we arrive at the pass and are rewarded with awesome views of Jannu, Mt. Makalu, Gyakung Kang, Everest, Lhotse, and Chamalang. Today is a tough one, and we will look forward to reaching our campsite just beyond the pass. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included.

      Today the trail leads downhill through rhododendron and pine forest before opening up to a vast open valley and Ghunsa. Ghunsa is a truly magical Tibetan village, with the usual prayer flags fluttering in the breeze, their unique architecture, and several monasteries (Gompa in Tibetan).  Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included.

      After leaving Ghunsa we head higher across to the north of the Ghunsa Khola (river) via wide flood plains until ascending on to Yak grazing lands. This is followed by a rather steep climb and then a descent to Lakeport. Mt Jannu will be visible along the trail and on our way to the small Tibetan settlement of Kambachen, which makes it seem smaller as it is totally surrounded by soaring mountains.  Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included.

      In and around Lhonak

      Scrambling over a rocky terrain we get to Ramtang Village (4,240m) and then head across the Kanchenjunga Glacier until we arrive at Lhonak, situated on a sandy plain near a nearly dry lake. Tonight we will set up our camp among the boulders and out of the wind. We are surrounded by mountains.  Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included.

      Pang Pema is the only place where we can have a clear view of Kanchenjunga. Pang Pema serves as the base camp for climbing expeditions to Kanchenjunga. The trail to Pang Pema crosses the moraine and will be a reminder that you are at a high altitude and will be feeling the effects as you gasp for more oxygen.  Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included.

      We will climb 200m or 300m in the morning to the ridge just north of Pang Pema. From this location, we can take in the fantastic panorama of soaring peaks, such as Kanchenjunga, Wedge Peak, the Twins, and Tent Peak. We will then descend back to Kambachen. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included.

      We head back on the same trail we took to arrive at Kanchenjunga Base Camp all the way to Ghunsa. The obvious advantage today will be we are heading down to lower altitudes where breathing is easier, giving you more time to focus on the beautiful surrounding countryside.

      An hour walks downhill from Ghunsa will see us at Phale Village. Along the trail, we pass through a juniper forest and see many monasteries prior to reaching Phale. From here we cross more undulating grazing lands until reaching Amjilosa. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included.

      Most of today is spent descending down a trail that ultimately arrives at the junction of two rivers, the Tamur and Ghunsa Kholas. A little further on we arrive at Sakathum Village. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included.

      Today we cross the Simbu Khola whose origin is at Kanchenjungaโ€™s south base camp. The climate at this lower altitude is noticeably warmer as we head to Chirwa Village, having to cross numerous small rivers along the way. The village itself is set among large boulders.
