      Upon arrival of your scheduled international flight to Salvador de Bahรญa, reception at the

      airport by our cooperation partner and drive to the hotel for registration. Salvador is one of the 10 largest cities in Brazil. The historical name of the coastal town is Sรฃo Salvador da Bahia de Todos os Santos (Holy Saviour of the Bay of All Saints), as it is situated on the Bay of All Saints. Salvador has about 2.7 million inhabitants and is the capital of the northeastern state of Bahia. Until 1763 was the capital of Brazil. Sit of Salvadorโ€™s Archbishop (Archdiocese of Sรฃo Salvador da Bahia), has two universities, a cocoa Institute, a zoological and a botanical garden. Salvador is built on different levels, a range of mountains, which divide the city into an upper city (Cidade Alta) and 70 meters below, a Lower City (Cidade Baixa). After registration, free time to recover from your flight. In the afternoon, historical tour of Salvador. Back to the hotel. Overnight.

      Breakfast at the hotel. Today we have a full day excursion to Cachoeira. The town Cachoeira is located in the state of Bahia. Its origins go back to the conquest of Brazil. Cachoeira is surrounded by large sugar cane and tobacco areas and is historically strongly associated with the history of slavery in Brazil. In Cachoeira, many buildings from the colonial period have been preserved. Lunch. Late afternoon back to Salvador. Overnight at hotel. (B) (D)

      Day 3: Salvador โ€“ Recife National Flight

      Breakfast at the hotel. The day is at leisure. On-time transfer to the airport for your flight to Recife, a port city on the Atlantic Ocean. The Portuguese settled the area around Recife in 1537, but from 1630 to 1654 was the site of the main base and the commercial hub of the Dutch, who were trying to put the Portuguese sole dominion over Brazil in dispute. Primarily due to the visionary, Governor General Maurice of Nassau was the place an urban thrust. The Dutch made the many swamps and islands habitable by creating channels. In 1930 crossed the LZ127 "Graf Zeppelin" for the first time the South Atlantic nonstop from Seville (Spain) to Recife. In Recife is located the Zeppelin tower where the airships could anker after the transatlantic traffic. After arriving at the airport of Recife, reception by our partners and transfer to the hotel.       Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will visit the city of Recife, with its best attractions,

      including the Old Town district of Santo Antonio and Sao Jose, the Palacio das Princesas, the oldest synagogue in the New World and the largest beach in the city, Praia da Boa Viagem. Then early trip to the airport for your flight to Sao Luis, since 1621 the capital of the Brazilian state of Maranhรฃo. The city lies on the eastern part of the Ilha de Sรฃo Luis in the Bay of Sรฃo Marcos. At this point of the Brazilian coast, the tidal range is about seven meters, which leaves at low tide huge sandy areas unexposed. Upon arrival, reception at the airport and transfer to hotel. Overnight. (B)

  • Day 5 Day 5: Sao Luis - Alcantara - Sao Luis

      Day 5: Sao Luis - Alcantara - Sao Luis

      Breakfast at the hotel. Full day Alcantara, a small town in the north of the state of Maranhรฃo. It lies at the Baรญa de Sรฃo Marcos Bay, in front of Sรฃo Luรญs, the capital of the state. Alcรขntara was once one of the largest and richest cities of Maranhรฃo, but lost that status later with Sรฃo Luรญs. From its former wealth still testify numerous sites which are partly severely damaged or destroyed and since 1948 are listed as protected buildings. The Porto do Jacarรฉ, the old port of the city, is located on the same branch of the river and was built in the 18th century. The main square is Praรงa da Matriz and the middle of the square is the Pelourinho, a sort of pillory column - that exists in many Portuguese and Brazilian cities. Return to Sao Luis. Overnight. (B)

      Breakfast at hotel. Early transfer to the airport for your flight to Belo Horizonte and immediate transfer to Ouro Preto, a city in the state of Minas Gerais. Because of its Baroque old town, it is unique in the world and a major tourist magnet in Brazil. Since 1980, the old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The name Ouro Preto means in English black gold. The town got its name because of its huge gold reserves, which were coloured by iron oxide contamination slightly black. Arrival at the hotel, and registration. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight. (B)

  • Day 7 Day 7: Ouro Preto - Mariana - Ouro Preto

      Day 7: Ouro Preto - Mariana - Ouro Preto

      After breakfast, tour the city of Ouro Preto with the main sights, including the many Baroque churches from the colonial era and the Tiradentes Square. Lunch in the city. Afterwards, we visit a small town named Mariana, which lies on the so-called "golden circle", in the neighbourhood of the famous World Heritage Site Ouro Preto. With this, the Brazilian Baroque influenced strongly the appearance of Mariana. Go back to the pousada. Overnight. (B) (L)

  • Day 8 Day 8: Ouro Preto - Congonhas - Sao Joao Del Rey - Tiradentes

      Day 8: Ouro Preto - Congonhas - Sao Joao Del Rey - Tiradentes

      After breakfast, you will visit two cities, Congonhas and Sao Joao del Rey. The small town of Congonhas is located in a valley 85 km south of Belo Horizonte. It owes its origin to the discovery of gold at the Rio Maranhรฃo. It now lives mainly in mining and metal processing and tourism. Since 1985, the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus de Matozinhos with sculptures by Aleijadinho and the Stations of the Cross are part of the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. Continue to Sรฃo Joรฃo del Rei, which is located 185 km from Belo Horizonte at the foot of the Serra do Lenheiro and halfway between Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte. It is the southernmost of the Baroque cities. After lunch, we will continue to Tiradentes, registration at the Pousada and a short tour of the city. Overnight. (B) (L)

  • Day 9 Day 9: Tiradentes - Petropolis - Rio De Janeiro

      Day 9: Tiradentes - Petropolis - Rio De Janeiro

      After breakfast at the Pousada, trip to Petropolis with tour and lunch. Petrรณpolis was founded in 1825 as a place of Germans, especially Tyrolean immigrants. In 1843, the Brazilian Emperor Dom Pedro II wished there the establishment of an imperial summer residence. Born in Mainz, Julius Friedrich Koeler was contracted to design and build the palace. Arrival in Rio de Janeiro late afternoon. Registration at the hotel and overnight. (B) (L)

  • Day 10 Day 10: Rio De Janeiro

      After breakfast at the hotel, visit the Corcovado (English: the hunchback), a mountain on which the symbol of the city is located, with its 38 meters high Christ Redeemer (including base). Continue to visit the other landmarks of the city, El Pao de Acucar (Sugar Loaf), a 395 m high, steep, towering granite cliff on the peninsula in the south of the Urca Botafogo Bay, where the Guanabara Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean. It carries his name because its shape resembles a sugar loaf. We will take a funicular to go on to the Sugarloaf Mountain (called O Bondinho), whose sides are fully glazed. Lunch at a barbecue restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the colonial town. Back to the hotel. Overnight. (B) (L)

      After breakfast, drive to Paraty, a city located between Rio de Janeiro and Sรฃo Paulo. Its

      historic old town was declared a national monument in 1958. The city stands out for its almost perfectly preserved historical architecture from the 17th Century. All houses are painted white with colourful window and doorframes. The roads have a rough cobblestone, which was transferred by slaves. One of the villas, the Villa Boa Vista, is the birthplace of the mother of Thomas Mann (german novelist and writer), Julia Mann, who spent here the first seven years of her life. Afternoon tour of the city ฬs historical center followed by dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight stay in a Pousada in Paraty. (B) (D)
