Langtang National Park permits and TIMS permit for trekking Down jacket and sleeping bag by Sherpa Expedition and Trekking (which need to be returned after the trek) Oximeter to check your pulse and oxygen saturation and heart rate twice daily (Very useful to check Altitude Mountain Sickness(AMS) symptoms) Which will ensure you trek is in the safest hands possible for all levels of trekker. Assistant guide for a minimum of 8+ person group size.

Transport

Airport / Hotel / Airport pick up & drop off service by a private tourist vehicle. Public bus transfer from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi and from Melamchi Pul Bazaar to Kathmandu.

Standard twin-sharing accommodation in a three-star hotel in Kathmandu including breakfast (2 nights only) Guesthouse accommodation during the trek in mostly twin-share and occasionally dormitory-style rooms.

      Upon arrival at Kathmandu Airport you will be met by Sherpa Expedition and Trekking staff and taken to your hotel, followed by a short briefing concerning your trek. In the evening we will provide a welcome dinner where you will meet your fellow trekkers and guide.

      Today we set off on a seven hour road trip heading to the Langtang Valley. As the road climbs out of Kathmandu Valley we will have views of the Annapurna Mountains in the west and directly ahead to Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and the other many peaks in the Langtang region.  We first arrive at Trishuli Village and then continue climbing until we reach Dhunche and enter the Langtang National Park. From Dhunche we drive for another hour downhill until we reach Syabru Besi where we stay the night.

      This morning we head out on the trail leading to Gatling. At Gatling you will get to see a cultural performance by the local Tamang people. Gatlang is a Tamang village situated on a hillside surrounded by terraced farmlands. We will also visit the Tamang monastery and Parvati Kunda Lake. We will stay here overnight.

      On the trek today you will have views of the Langtang massifs and Ganesh Himal. Tatopani, in Nepali, means โ€œhot waterโ€. We will spend a relaxing time in the therapeutic hot springs. We will also visit the unusual village of Thuman which is known for its Shamanic beliefs. From here you have views of the Langtang Mountains. We will also visit the village of Nagthali which is a meditation center for monks and priests and also has views of the Langtang massifs, Sanjen massifs, Ganesh and Kerung Himal. We will stay overnight at Tatopani.

      This morning we follow the trail to Thuman via Bimtang and Nagthali. We initially trek through the alpine jungle to Bimtang, a small Tamang village that leads up the hill to Nagthali. From the higher elevation at Nagthali we can see the amazing mountains: Langtang ranges, Ganesh, Sanjen and Kerung Himal. We then descend to the Tamang settlement of Thuman where we will stay overnight.

      Today we follow the trail to Lingling Village and will visit the Dukchu Monastery (Gompa). The inhabitants of Briddim are mostly Tibetans living in stone houses. We will stay here overnight.

      This morning we head downhill to the Ghopche Khola (river) and then climb higher to eventually reach Lama Hotel situated on the banks of the Langtang River. Langtang is surrounded by forests and has some amazing mountain views. We will stay here overnight.

      Today the trail firstly takes us to Ghode Tabala from where we will have our first views of the massive Langtang Lirung (7227m). The trail heads through a rhododendron forest (more spectacular during spring when it is in full white, red & pink bloom). There is also a national park office here. We will then continue to Langtang Village (3450m) where we will stay the night.

  • Day 9 Day 9: Hike Up To Kyanjing Ri (4773M) And Return Kyanjing Gompa (3798M) Duration 7-8 Hours.

      Today the trail takes us to Sindum and then on to Yamphu. Weโ€™ll then have to cross the Laja Khola and scramble across the moraine to the view point to see the Kyanjin Gompa and glacier on Langtang Lirung. We head higher to Kyanjin Ri. After spending some time admiring the scenery we head back to Kyanjin Gompa for the night.

  • Day 10 Day 10: Exploration Day At Kyangjuma Gompa And Climb Chorkari Ri (5050M) Duration 6-7 Hours.

      We will spend today exploring the Kyanjin Gompa and visit the monastery and cheese factory. We will then climb up to Chorkari Ri, the highest point on the trek, and take in the fantastic panoramic views of the Langtang ranges.

      This morning we head back downhill to Lama Hotel โ€“ an easier trek allowing us time to admire the amazing views. We will stay here overnight.

      This morning we first cross the river before heading up to Thulo Syabru. The trail passes through pine and juniper forests. We will stay here overnight.

      This morning we follow a wide trail up to Dimsa village and then through rhododendron, hemlock and oak forests to Shin Gumba. On the trail, you will have some great views of Langtang Himal and Langtang Valley. Shin Gompa also has its own cheese-making facility. We will stay here overnight.

      The initial stage of this trek today sees us climb up to Laurebinayak and then cross a small ridge and have your first views of the sacred Gosainkunda Lake. There are around a dozen lakes in the Gosainkunda Basin. The three main ones are Saraswatikunda, Bhairab Kunda and Gosainkunda. Legend has it that Gosainkunda was created by Lord Shiva when he pierced a glacier with his trident (spear) to get water to quench his thirst after having swallowed poison, and thus the lake was formed. We will stay here overnight.

      The trail today takes us past four small lakes to the Laurebinayak La Pass (4610meters from where we can see Mt. Manaslu and the mountains of Ganesh Himal, and Langtang Lirung. We then have a steep descent to our campsite located near Ghopte.

      This morning we head down through the forest and along a dry riverbed until we arrive at Kharka, a village surrounded by rhododendron forest. From here we continue up through the forest to the village of Tharepati. We then head through the forest before descending to the Melamchi River and climb up to  Malemchigaon where we will stay overnight at a guesthouse.

      Today we arrive in the Helambu region and walk up to Tarkeghyang where you can witness the Sherpa culture and its traditional villages and monasteries. The stone houses are built close together and have narrow alleyways separating them. We will stay here overnight at the guesthouse.

      The trail through forested areas will give you some great views of the Helambu region. The trail heads around a wide valley between Parachin and the quaint Sherpa village of Gangyul. The people in this village practice Drukpa Kagyu Buddhism, the same as that practiced in Bhutan. We will stay here overnight at guesthouse.

  • Day 19 Day 19: Trek To Melamchi Bazaar & Drive To Kathmandu (1,350) Duration 6-7 Hours.

      This morning we have a short trek down to Melamchi Pul Bazaar passing several Sherpa villages on the trail. We will then catch a bus back to Kathmandu. At Kathmandu you will be taken back to your hotels.
