Day 2: Visit To Pilgrimage Sites; Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath And Budhanilkhanta.

      Pashupatinath Temple

Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most sacred Hindu temples in Nepal, is situated on the banks of the Bagmati River on the eastern outskirts of Kathmandu. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, Pashupatinath is the most important temple of its kind, drawing hundreds of elderly Hindu devotees each year. Many come seeking shelter during the final weeks of their lives, to die and be cremated on the riverbanks, allowing the sacred waters of the Bagmati River, which eventually flow into the holy Ganges, to carry them on their final journey. Hindus from all over Nepal and India come here to pass away, believing that dying at Pashupatinath ensures rebirth as a human, regardless of their past karma. The astrologers at the temple are even believed to predict the exact day of death. If you are intrigued by places where the presence of death is palpable, Pashupatinath should be your first destination. The templeโ€™s atmosphere is steeped in rituals and symbolism surrounding death, which permeates every corner.

      Kathmandu Durbar Square

Kathmandu Durbar Square, also known as Hanuman Dhoka Square, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the major attractions in the Kathmandu Valley. The cultural heart of Nepal, the square is surrounded by a rich concentration of historical and religious sites. The name "Hanuman Dhoka" comes from the statue of Hanuman, the monkey god, placed at the entrance of the royal palace by King Pratap Malla in 1672 A.D. The Basantapur Durbar, built by King Prithvi Narayan Shah in 1770, is also part of this complex. Located in the heart of ancient Kathmandu, the square is surrounded by both Hindu and Buddhist temples, most of which are built in the pagoda style with intricately carved exteriors. The buildings here primarily date from the 15th to the 18th century and reflect the religious and cultural life of the people. Notable sites include the Kumari Ghar (home of the Living Goddess), Kasthamandap, Maru Ganesh, Mahadev Temple, Shiva Parvati Temple, Bhagwati Temple, the Old Royal Palace, Saraswati Temple, Krishna Octangular Temple, the Big Drums, Kal Bhairav, Jagannath Temple, and Taleju Temple.

      Budhanilkantha

The Budhanilkantha statue of Lord Vishnu, located about 10 kilometers from central Kathmandu at the base of Shivapuri Hill, is the largest and most exquisite stone carving in Nepal. Known as the Sleeping Vishnu or Jalakshayan Narayan, this enigmatic statue is carved from a single block of black basalt of unknown origin. Measuring 5 meters in length, it lies in a reclining position within a recessed tank of water, representing the cosmic sea, which is 13 meters in length. The statue depicts Vishnu resting on the coils of the cosmic serpent Shesha, who is the eternal, multi-headed king of the serpent deities known as Nagas and also serves as Vishnuโ€™s loyal servant. Vishnuโ€™s legs are crossed, and the eleven heads of Shesha cradle his head. In Vishnuโ€™s four hands, he holds symbols of his divine qualities: a chakra (representing the mind), a conch shell (symbolizing the four elements), a lotus flower (signifying the moving universe), and a club (representing primeval knowledge).

  • Day 3 Day 3: Transfer To Pokhara, On The Way Visit To Manakamana Temple By Cable Car.
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 3: Transfer To Pokhara, On The Way Visit To Manakamana Temple By Cable Car.

Begin your day with a pickup from your hotel and a drive to Kurintar. From there, take Nepalโ€™s first cable car up to the Manakamana Temple, dedicated to the Hindu goddess Durga Bhawani. After performing puja and exploring the temple grounds, return to the road via cable car and continue your journey to Pokhara. Manakamana, located in Nepalโ€™s Gorkha District, is believed to be a temple where the goddess fulfills the wishes of those who worship her with a pure heart. It is said that sincere prayers are answered by the goddess. After your visit, continue the drive to Pokhara and check into your hotel for an overnight stay.

  • Day 4 Day 4: Sarangkot Sunrise And Visit To Barahitemple, Bindyabashini Temple , Daivs Fall, Gupteshwor Mahadev Darshan.

Day 4: Sarangkot Sunrise And Visit To Barahitemple, Bindyabashini Temple , Daivs Fall, Gupteshwor Mahadev Darshan.

      Sarangkot

Sarangkot is a small hilltop renowned for its breathtaking sunrise views over the Annapurna range and Machhapuchhare (Fishtail Mountain). From this vantage point, you can enjoy a panoramic vista of Himalayan peaks, stretching from Dhaulagiri (8,167m) in the west to the perfect pyramid of Machhapuchhare (6,997m) and the rounded peak of Annapurna II (7,937m) in the east. The best times to visit are at dawn or dusk when the sun paints the peaks in brilliant colors.

      Tal Barahi Temple

Tal Barahi Temple is a two-story pagoda-style structure devoted to the deity Tal Barahi, a manifestation of Shakti in her boar form. Shakti, the Hindu mother goddess, represents the origin of the universe, creativity, and power. As Durga, she protects the gods from demons, and in her boar form as Barahi, she pierces her enemies with pointed tusks. Barahi is depicted with a boarโ€™s face, holding a cup in one hand and a fish in the other. The temple, located on a small island in Phewa Lake, is a significant place of worship for Hindu devotees.

      Bindhyabasini Temple

Bindhyabasini Temple, located in the old bazaar, is a major center of religious activity. Dedicated to Goddess Bhagawati, another form of Shakti, the temple is surrounded by park-like grounds, making it a popular picnic spot. On Saturdays and Tuesdays, the temple becomes particularly lively as devotees gather to offer sacrifices, creating a festive atmosphere.

      Deviโ€™s Falls

Deviโ€™s Falls, locally known as Patale Chhango, is fed by the waters of Phewa Lake and is just one kilometer from Pokhara city. This site is a popular attraction, especially during the pre-monsoon period when it becomes an ideal spot for swimming.

      Gupteswar Cave

Gupteswar Cave, a sacred site for Hindus, is located 2 km from Pokhara city along the Siddhartha Highway. The cave stretches for 3 km, featuring large chambers and narrow passages that require crawling. It is also a pilgrimage site, as it houses a phallic symbol of Lord Shiva. The cave can be accessed directly from Deviโ€™s Falls, making it an intriguing destination for visitors.
