You will start your 5-day Desert Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga by being picked up from your accommodation, whether it’s a hotel or Riad in the Medina of Marrakech. The journey will take you through the renowned High Atlas Mountains, and you will cross the Tizi N Tichka pass, which is the highest pass in Morocco at 2260 meters above sea level.

During this drive, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes and traditional Berber villages. Your first destination is the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou Kasbah. Here, you will embark on a guided walking tour to learn about its rich history and its significance as a popular filming location for numerous iconic movies, including ’Lawrence of Arabia (1962),’ ’The Jewel of the Nile (1985),’ ’Queen Of The Desert,’ ’Gladiator (2000),’ and ’Game of Thrones (2013).’

"After a satisfying breakfast, your 5-day desert tour from Marrakech to the Sahara desert of Merzouga continues. You’ll traverse the stunning Draa Valley, navigating the striking volcanic rock formations of the Anti Atlas Mountains on your way to Agdez and Tamnougalt. These areas are known for their unique landscapes and are a gateway to trekking in the Jebel Saghro (Saghro Mountain) region, which leads to Dades.

As you progress towards Rissani, a Saharan town steeped in history as the birthplace of the Alaouite dynasty, you’ll discover its bustling traditional market. This market holds a significant place in the region, being one of the largest and most important marketplaces in the southeast of the country for decades. Nomads from various regions converge here for trade and commerce. Rissani is situated just 35 kilometers from Merzouga, making it a crucial hub for the surrounding villages of Erg Chebbi.

Continuing your journey, you’ll head to one of the premier desert destinations, the Erg Chebbi Sahara desert. Here, you’ll embark on a camel trek to reach your desert camp, allowing you to witness a mesmerizing desert sunset as you traverse the sand dunes. "Today, you’ll experience a remarkable morning amidst the Sahara Desert. It’s well worth waking up early to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the sand dunes. After enjoying this spectacular sight and indulging in a hearty breakfast, you’ll have the opportunity to freshen up. Your camel ride will then take you back to the starting point where you’ll reunite with your driver at the dune line.

Next, embark on an off-road exploration adventure of the surrounding villages, including Hassi Labied and the Khamlia village, which is renowned for its talented musicians known for their love of Gnawa music, originating from Sub-Saharan countries. Your journey will continue with a visit to Mefes, a small town with a history tied to lead mines.
