Itinerary of your trip Escorted Leh Ladakh Tour For 10 Days

  • Day 1 Arrival In Leh
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Arrival In Leh

Upon arrival at Leh airport, you will be greeted by our representative, who will assist you in transferring to your designated hotel in Leh. Once you arrive at the hotel, proceed with the check-in process.

The remainder of the day is dedicated to relaxation, allowing you to acclimatize to the high altitude. As you ascend from 200 meters to approximately 4000 meters within just one hour, itโ€™s crucial to give your body the time it needs to adjust to the altitude and climate. While the temptation to explore everything on your first day is understandable, we strongly advise prioritizing rest for proper acclimatization.

In the evening, you can visit Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa, and the Local Market to unwind. Dinner and overnight accommodation will be provided at the hotel.

  • Day 2 At Leh (Visit Sangam, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Hall Of Fame, Magnetic Hill)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

At Leh (Visit Sangam, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Hall Of Fame, Magnetic Hill)

After breakfast in the morning, embark on a drive to Sangam (Confluence), with stops at Magnetic Hill and Gurudwara Patthar Sahib along the way. The Confluence marks the meeting point of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers, located in Ladakh at Nimu. The Indus, a constant companion throughout Ladakh, earns profound respect as a lifeline for the region, given its meager annual rainfall of 2 to 3 inches. At this juncture, the Indus and Zanskar Rivers merge, and beyond this point, the unified waters are recognized as the Indus River.

Magnetic Hill presents a fascinating phenomenon where vehicles can seemingly move uphill with their engines off, creating an almost unbelievable experience.

Gurudwara Pathhar Sahib, situated approximately 25 miles from Leh on the Leh-Kargil road at an elevation of 12,000 ft, is a beautiful Gurudwara built in 1517 in memory of Guru Nanak. It commemorates the visit of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder Guru of the Sikh faith, to the Ladakh region.

On the return journey, make a stop at the Ladakh Hall of Fame. Constructed by the Indian Army, this site is a compelling visit for all Indians. The hall features memorabilia, biographies of eminent defense personalities, images, weapons used during the Kargil war, and artifacts from enemy soldiers found at the war site. Note that additional charges apply for visiting the light and sound show at the Hall of Fame in the evening.

      Overnight stay at the hotel.

Leh To Nubra Valley Via Khardungla Pass (140 Kms / 5 -6 Hours Drive)

In the early morning, embark on a journey to Nubra Valley via the Khardungla Pass, renowned as the Worldโ€™s Highest Motorable road at an elevation of 5602 meters.

Khardung la Pass (18,380ft above sea level): A rare opportunity unfolds as you drive on a road situated at an altitude of 18,380 feet. This is where the Khardungla Pass, meaning the โ€™Pass of Lower Castle,โ€™ is situated on the route from Leh to the Nubra Valley in Ladakh. Proudly declared as the highest motorable road globally, signs erected by the Border Roads Organization mark this remarkable feat.

Upon arrival in Nubra Valley, visit the White Sand Dunes at Hunder. Here, you have the option to partake in a camel ride (available on direct payment basis). Nubra Valley, often referred to as the orchard of Ladakh, showcases a picturesque landscape adorned with yellow and pink wild roses in summer and a carpet of wild lavender in the post-monsoon season. The sight of Bactrian Camels (Shaggy double-hump Camels) wandering around the sand dunes is sure to leave you in awe.

Following the exploration, check in at a comfortable Camp or Hotel in the valley. The evening is yours to enjoy at leisure. Dinner and overnight accommodation will be provided at the camp or hotel.

Until 1971, the village was under Pakistani occupation, and it was in a fierce war against the Pakistani army that India reclaimed it. From the elevated vantage point of the village, you can also witness the Pakistani side of the border. Remarkably, many families are divided, with some relatives residing on the other side of the border. Turtuk offers an excellent opportunity for capturing memorable photographs, and the village is also famous for its high-quality apricots and the traditional sword dance performed on significant occasions and during marriages. As the saying goes, "only smiles are sweeter than apricots in Turtuk." In the evening, return to Nubra for overnight stay,

Not only is it a favored location for various film shootings, but it is also renowned for its pristine waters surrounded by breathtaking mountains. The lake, nestled close to the famous Chushul Mountains, is long and narrow. Its mirror-calm waters are cold, crystal clear, and notably saline. Pangong Lake serves as a breeding ground for a variety of birds, adding to its natural charm. In the evening, check in to your camps at Pangong Lake for a delightful dinner and an overnight stay.

Enjoy the scenic drive to Hanle, which is renowned for being home to the Indian Astronomical Observatory. The villageโ€™s location and the observatory are of high sensitivity due to their close proximity to the Tibetan/Chinese border. India has established the Himalayan Chandra Telescope, a 2m gamma-ray telescope, in this strategic location. Once completed, the Major Atmospheric Cerenkov Experiment Telescope, currently under construction, will be the worldโ€™s largest telescope at the highest altitude and the second-largest gamma-ray telescope globally. Historically, it is believed that King Singge Namgyal passed away here in Hanle while returning from an expedition to the Mongols. Overnight stay at Hanle.

Following an early breakfast, we complete the check-out from our camp and explore Korzok village, where the houses and Gompa seem to materialize like a mirage. The barley fields in Korzok are among the highest cultivated fields in the world.

Subsequently, we drive to Tsokar, where the nomadic Changpas people stand out as a remarkable feature of the region. These nomads can be observed moving from one place to another, grazing herds of goats, sheep, and yaks. The Changpas spend their days with their animals, traversing different pastures according to the changing seasons. Their flocks, yaks, and goat hair serve as raw materials for crafting ropes, clothes, and shoes. Throughout the day, both men and women are engaged in tasks such as milking, churning milk into butter, making ropes, and weaving mats and fabrics. These people remain untouched by modern influences, belonging to a primitive, prehistoric age even in the twenty-first century.

      At Leh (Monestry Tour)

Today, embark on a captivating sightseeing tour of ancient monasteries in Leh.

Shey Gompa: Situated approximately 15 km from Leh, Shey Gompa was the summer palace of the Ladakh kings. The palace is surrounded by numerous Gompas and Stupas. Thiksey Gompa: Located close to Shey, Thiksey Gompa is approximately 17 km from Leh. This monastery, belonging to the Gelukspa order, is considered one of the most beautiful monasteries in Ladakh. With a history of 600 years, it boasts numerous temples, exquisite murals, a collection of books, paintings, and an impressive Buddha statue at the entrance.

Hemis: Positioned about 45 km south of Leh, Hemis Monastery is one of the largest monasteries in Ladakh, founded in the early 17th century and affiliated with the Drukpa order. Nestled in a picturesque valley, surrounded by streams and adorned with long Mani walls, Hemis Monastery stands out with its unique decorations and attractions compared to other monasteries.

3 Idiots School/Rancho School: Popularized by Aamir Khanโ€™s movie "Three Idiots," Druk Padma Karpo School, also known as Druk White Lotus School, gained fame for its clean and eco-friendly structures designed to withstand seismic disturbances. In 2016, BBC London recognized it as one of the most beautiful schools globally.
