      A Sherpa Expedition & Trekking staff member will be there to greet you at Tribhuvan International Airport and take you to your hotel in Thamel, followed by a briefing covering information about this climbing expedition.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Guided Sightseeing In The Kathmandu Valley.

      Today, we will go sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley with our guide. We will visit Pashupatinath, which is regarded as the holiest Hindu temple in Nepal and a place where pilgrims worship Lord Shiva (located on the banks of the sacred Bagmati River), Bouddhanath, a Buddhist temple known as โ€˜Little Tibetโ€™ and then on to Swayambhunath known as the Monkey Temple. From Swayambhunath we drive to Kathmanduโ€™s famous Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed site, and located in front of the old royal palace. After getting back to your hotel you may have time to do some last-minute shopping around Thamel โ€“ the tourist hub of Kathmandu. Back at your hotel, your guide will also be available to help you prepare for your trek.

      This morning we will drive for about 5 to 6 hours before reaching Besisahar - about 190 kilometers from Kathmandu. After arriving at Besisahar we will go by jeep to Syange where we will have some unbelievable views of Mt. Annapurna II (7937m), Mt. Manaslu (8156m) and Mt Lamjung (6983m).

      The road today takes us by jeep through a gorge with astonishing waterfalls cascading down into it and with many views of snow-capped mountains along the way. The winding road takes us from Syange via Jagat Village (1410m) and then comes to Chamje Village. After crossing a bridge there is a steep uphill climb before we reach the village of Tal (1700m), situated next to the Marsyangdi River. From Tal, we continue to todayโ€™s destination, Dharapani Village.

      Today we head out on the trail from Dharapani gradually climbing higher and with noticeable cooler conditions. You will also see a change in the landscape at this higher elevation as the trail passes through forests before reaching the Tibetan village of Bagarchhap with its typical Tibetan architecture. Climbing higher we reach the apple-growing region and farmlands along with pine forests and views of Lamjung and Annapurna II peaks. We then follow the Marsyangdi River heading upstream and pass the villages of Manang and Koto before arriving at Chame. It is an easy walk from Koto to Chame where we spend the night. Chame is the district headquarters of the Manang region. 

  • Day 6 Day 6: Chame To Upper Pisang (3,300M) Duration 4-5 Hours.

      We leave Chame and pass through Telekhu Village and along the trail have some magnificent views of Annapurna and Pisang (6091m) until we have to re-cross over a suspension bridge to the south bank of the Marsyangdi River. After crossing the river we then head higher and pass a pine-forest as we follow the trail through the upper reaches of the Manang valley to Pisang. At the upper edge of Pisang village, we can see Pisang and Chulu peaks.

      Medical professionals strongly recommend before heading to higher elevations that trekkers spend some time acclimatizing. They also recommend staying active. From here you have some remarkable views of the Annapurnas, Gangapurna, and Tilicho.

      Today we ascend to Base Camp and try to find a suitable place to set up camp for the night. There are several flat places to erect our tents at Yak Kharka where we will stay overnight.

      This morning we ascend for four to five hours all the way to High Camp heading across the south west ridge. We will set up our tents here tonight. 

  • Day 10 Day 10: High Camp To Summit Pisang Peak (6,091M) And Descend To Base Camp.

      We have a long hard day ahead of us as we set out on a seven to nine-hour trek to Pisang Peak summit. We initially follow the ridge and then come to a more difficult section where we fix ropes until reaching the summit. From the summit, there are some astonishing panoramic views over the surrounding peaks. After taking in the views and taking a breather we will descend back to Base Camp for the night.

      This morning we head to Pisang Village on the first leg of our trek today and follow the trail along the banks of the river. The terrain at this lower altitude is greener and denser compared with the more arid and desolate landscape on Pisang Peak. Manang is located in the valley of the Marsyangdi River. Tonight we will stay at a lodge.

      This morning we follow the trail trek and gradually ascend to Yak Kharka where we will stay the night.

      This morning we make our way to the foot of the pass (Thorong Pedi) at the base of Thorong La Pass. This is a small village where we will stay the night.

      Today is likely to be the toughest day of the trek as we hike for around 8 to 9 hours. The higher altitude adds to the degree of difficulty; and sometimes there are strong winds in these upper regions. On the trail, we may pass sheep, yaks, and merchants transporting their goods from Tibet and other regions. Once we arrive at Thorong La Pass we will be rewarded with some fantastic views of Annapurna, Gangapurna, and the conspicuous peak of Khatungkang (6484m). From the pass, we descend around 1600 meters and then have a more undulating and relatively easy trek before we reach Muktinath where we stay the night.

      After leaving Muktinath we pass through lush meadows, fruit trees, and streams and pass Kagbeni before we come to Jomsom in the. Kali Gandaki Valley. Jomsom is the headquarters of the Mustang District and home to the Thakali people. It is well worth a visit to the Jomsom Eco-Museum. Kagbeni has a reputation for its horticulture industry.

  • Day 16 Day 16: Fly To Pokhara ( 8,50M) & Transfer To Hotel.

      This morning we have a 35 minute flight to catch back to Pokhara. The scenic flight takes us between Annapurna and Dhaulagiri peaks and offers incredible views of other Himalayan mountains. We have the entire afternoon free to explore Pokhara and can sit by Lakeside with a drink or maybe go shopping in the area alongside Phewa Tal (lake). If time is short you may wish to fly back to Kathmandu today instead of waiting for tomorrow when we head back by road.

      Today we head back on a 6 to 7-hour drive to Kathmandu with many fond memories of Nepal and its unique culture and geography. These memories will last a lifetime
