Itinerary of your trip The Big High-Five Tour

  • Day 1 Arrival And Transfer To Murchison Falls
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Arrival And Transfer To Murchison Falls

Welcome to the Pearl of Africa! The airport in Entebbe will be your arrival destination. You will be welcomed by our professional tour guide and given a brief overview of the 6 days ahead. You will proceed to Murchison Falls National Park. In northwest Uganda, the park sits on the shore of Lake Albert. The Victoria Nile River surges through a narrow gap over a massive drop at Murchison Falls.

Enroute, you will already have your first tour stop. Join the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola for a game walk with an experienced Ranger guide to see rhinos, the first animal on your list of the Big Five.

Our recommendation is to arrive the day before so that you can do some sightseeing in Kampala and Entebbe before transferring to Murchison Falls National Park. We are happy to assist with any planning.

Morning Game Drive In Murchison Falls National Park And Afternoon Boat Cruise To The Murchison Falls

After early morning breakfast, you will be picked up by your guide for an early morning game drive in Murchison Falls National Park. The best time to spot wild animals. You will encounter different species of animals such as giraffes, lions, elephants, Uganda Kobs among others. In the same way, you will be treated to beautiful sights of Albert delta, and various bird species.

After lunch, you will go for a boat trip to explore the parkโ€™s main attraction - Murchison Falls along the striking Victoria Nile, with its impressive schools of hippos, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife, including herons, cormorants, ducks, bee-eaters, fish eagles, kingfishers and sometimes even the rare shoebill stork. Ugandaโ€™s Murchison Falls, or Kabalega Falls, is located between Lake Kyoga and Lake Albert. A gap in the rocks only 7 m wide allows the Nile to pass through and tumble 43 m before entering Lake Albert at the top of Murchison Falls.

Transfer To Queen Elizabeth And Evening Game Drive In Queen Elizabeth

Wake up in the morning and enjoy a healthy breakfast. We have a long transfer ahead of us, before we arrive at one of Ugandaโ€™s most famous national parks: Queen Elizabeth. In its stunning setting on the rift valley floor, Queen Elizabeth National Park is Ugandaโ€™s most popular and diverse conservation area.

The park is surrounded by lakes, escarpments, and the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountain. With more than 95 mammals, 612 bird species, and habitat for tree-climbing lions, the park has one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any national park in the world. As you drive through the park to your lodge in the evening, you will see wildlife including Buffalos, Lions, Waterbuck, Leopards, Uganda Kob, and Warthogs.

  • Day 4 Kibale Chimpanzee Trekking And Boat Cruise

Kibale Chimpanzee Trekking And Boat Cruise

Drive to Kibale National Park in the morning for a chimpanzee tracking experience. Observe the manโ€™s closest relatives in the wild and watch them as they play, swing on tree branches, and fight for food. Africaโ€™s Kibale National Forest has one of the highest concentrations and diversity of primates. This region is home to a large population of endangered chimpanzees, the red colobus monkey (endangered), and the rare Lโ€™Hoestโ€™s monkey (vulnerable), making it an excellent location for chimpanzee tracking safaris.

In the afternoon, you will take a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a wide, 32-kilometer-long natural channel that links Lake Edward and Lake George, and is a dominant feature of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The channel attracts a varied range of animals and birds, with one of the worldโ€™s largest concentrations of hippos and numerous Nile crocodiles. At a lucky moment, some animals will be found drinking water, taking a bath, and or even hunting.
