      Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by a representative from the Alpine Club of Himalaya who will escort you to our hotel. After checking in, you can rest or take a stroll around the streets of Thamel, a famous tourist hub in Kathmandu, perfect for some souvenir shopping. In the evening, a welcome dinner hosted by the Alpine Club of Himalaya will offer you the opportunity to enjoy delicious authentic Nepalese cuisine.

      Day 2: Kathmandu For Sightseeing And Trek Preparation

      After breakfast, embark on a guided tour to several of Kathmanduโ€™s most historical and spiritual attractions, including World Heritage Sites such as the historic Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the renowned โ€™Monkey Templeโ€™ (Swayambhunath), and the Buddhist shrine of Bouddhanath, one of the largest stupas in the world. At noon, attend a pre-trip discussion to meet your trek leader and other team members. During this session, the Alpine Club of Himalaya will provide a briefing on the trek and answer any questions you may have about your upcoming adventure. You will spend the night in Kathmandu.

      Starting the day early is a good idea as we travel by road from Kathmandu to Chamje village, which will be our starting point. Chamje, a small village in the Annapurna Region at an elevation of 1,430 meters, boasts a picturesque waterfall that attracts both locals and tourists. The beautiful greenery surrounding the village will energize us for the trek ahead, making our overnight stay in Chamje a pleasant start to the journey.

      Starting the trek early in the morning, the trail leads through various vegetable plantations, waterfalls, and mixed communities believed to have migrated from Tibet. After crossing the suspension bridge below Chamje and climbing two steep sections, the path reaches the village of Tal. From Tal, the route enters the Manang district. Along the way, it passes through Kodo village, following a trail that rises and falls, cutting across a mountainside to one of the biggest villages in the Manang District, Dharapani, where we will spend the night.

      Today, we traverse a few steep, forested ridges and navigate several landslides on our way to Chame. Itโ€™s important not to forget to look up, as weโ€™ll be greeted with remarkable views of Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II, and Annapurna IV, towering at 7,525 meters. Along the way, weโ€™ll also come across small hot springs, perfect for a relaxing break from the tiring trek. Chame, the headquarters of Manang District in the Gandaki Zone of northern Nepal, will be our destination for the night.

      Todayโ€™s trail weaves through undulating terrain, crossing several rivers and passing through sparsely populated settlements. As you walk through a steep and narrow valley, youโ€™ll catch your first glimpse of Paungda Danda, a dramatic curved rock face rising 1,500 meters from the river. From this vantage point, seize the opportunity to admire the stunning views of Annapurna II to the south and Pisang Peak to the northeast. Continue your descent into the Manang Valley, surrounded by captivating landscapes, before settling in for an overnight stay in Pisang.

      From Pisang, there are two routes to Manang, but the one that passes through Upper Pisang via Geru offers outstanding views of Mount Annapurna, Pisang Peak, and other majestic peaks. As we near Manang, the climate becomes colder and drier. However, a short visit to Barge Monastery, the largest monastery in the Manang District, should boost our spirits. Weโ€™ll spend the night in Manang.

      After breakfast, continue trekking up to the village of Khangsar. As you walk ahead, the trail cuts down through a gorge, offering glimpses of Tilicho Peak shrouded in clouds far above. The natural beauty of the Annapurna range captivates you all along the way. Passing through small scenic settlements and the Tore monastery, you can enjoy the breathtaking Khangsar River and the grand barrier before reaching Khangsar. Spend the night in Khangsar.

      As we begin the trek from Kangsar to Tilicho Lake Base Camp, we come across wide grassy fields and, after making a slight climb up a small hill, witness the glorious views of the entire valley. After trudging down a steep inclination, you now enter the Tilicho Base Camp. Camping is the only option as there are not many lodges out here. Overnight at Tilicho Base Camp.

Upon reaching one of the highest lakes in the world, youโ€™ll be captivated by its serene beauty. At times, the turquoise waters reflect the surrounding peaks, while at other moments, the lake is frozen. Take a moment to relax beside the tranquil waters and soak in the stunning scenery before heading back to the base camp for the night.ยญ

      Upon leaving Tilicho Base Camp, the trail transitions from the lush Marsyangdi Valley to a more rugged alpine environment. The trees give way to sparse alpine vegetation as you continue past the ruins of the old Khangsar village. Crossing a log bridge over the river between Gumsang and Yak Kharka, youโ€™ll arrive at Yak Kharka, a quintessential Himalayan village where yaks are often seen grazing and roaming freely. From this vantage point, you can also enjoy stunning views of Annapurna III. An overnight stay in Yak Kharka allows you to fully appreciate the serene surroundings and majestic landscape.

      From Yak Kharka, the trail continues with an uphill walk to Thorang Phedi. After some time, youโ€™ll cross a suspension bridge to reach Ledar village. From there, the path ascends further, navigating through towering cliffs before arriving at Thorang Phedi, the final village before Thorong La Pass. Along the way, youโ€™ll be rewarded with spectacular views of Mount Gundang, Mount Syagang, Thorung Peak, and Mount Khatungkan. In Nepali, "Phedi" means "the foot of a mountain," which aptly describes the location of Thorang Phedi. An overnight stay here allows you to soak in the breathtaking scenery and prepare for the journey ahead.

Wake up around three in the morning to begin the ascent. The climb to the top may be challenging, but reaching the summit makes the effort worthwhile. Be sure to capture the moment with a few photos before descending to Muktinath Valley at the foot of the pass. An overnight stay in Muktinath allows you to rest and reflect on this remarkable achievement.

As you continue along the trail, youโ€™ll be treated to breathtaking views of Mount Dhaulagiri. Consider purchasing a fossilized mollusk, known as โ€™Shaligram,โ€™ as a souvenir. Moving forward, youโ€™ll traverse meadows, cross streams, and navigate hills to reach Kagbeni, a charming village adorned with chortens (memorial stupas) and a small monastery. After a lunch break in Kagbeni, continue your journey to Jomsom, situated in the Kali Gandaki Valley, where the trail winds through breezy areas. Enjoy an overnight stay in Jomsom.

You can enjoy a serene boat ride on the lake, where the reflection of Fishtail Mountain creates a picturesque scene, or visit the impressive Davis Falls. In the evening, take a leisurely stroll around the lakeside area and pick up souvenirs for friends and family. Overnight in Pokhara.
