Following breakfast at your hotel, we will take you on a tour of Moroccoโ€™s capital city, Rabat, one of the Moroccan imperial cities. We will visit the most notable tourist destinations in the city, including the Oudaia, the old medina, Graisa, and the Al-Ashraf Tower.

Next, we will drive to Volubilis, which is nearly a 2-hour and 20-minute drive from Rabat. There, we will explore the ruins of Old Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This ancient city, built in the 4th century BC, is one of the finest examples of Roman remains in North Africa. The site spans a large area of serene green fields and includes middle-class houses, palaces where emperors entertained guests, and spectacular baths adorned with mosaics.

After exploring Volubilis, we will proceed to Meknes, another imperial city. As our tour in Meknes will be brief, we will have lunch before continuing to Fez for the night.

Fez Sightseeing Tour With Local Guide

On the third day of this 7-Day Tour from Casablanca, our guided tour of Fez will commence with a city tour covering the heritage areas of the ancient Kingdom. You will feel like a fairy-tale character as you immerse yourself in the mystic atmosphere of this ancient oriental city, strolling along the winding and narrow streets of the Al-Medina structure, and learning about numerous historical monuments that witnessed the Merinid and Alaouite dynasties when Fez was the capital of the Kingdom of the Sultans.

Many of these monuments reflect the prevailing Moorish architectural style. Besides the Bu Inania Mosque, we will visit the madrassas, Nejarin Square, and its water fountain. By following their traditional skills, which have been passed down through generations, you will head to the handicraft quarters, where pottery and leather artisans will be happy to assist you.

Later, we will make a detour through the Mellah, the Jewish quarter, which still exists today. This portrays a unique coexistence, as the two communities, Muslim and Jewish, live in one location.

  • Day 4 Fez To Erg Merzougua Desert
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

En route, we will stop in Ifrane, a town reminiscent of European scenery, with its nature, climate, parks with lakes, chalets, ski resorts, and winter snow, earning it the nickname "Moroccan Switzerland." In the vicinity of Ifrane, we will see the breathtaking cedars of the Atlas Mountains, interact with playful monkeys, and continue to Azrou, where we will have a picnic lunch in the Beni Mellal nature reserve. The monkeys are cheerful and love being pampered with delicacies.

We will also have a lunch stop in Midelt. Our route will take us through the gorge and riverbed of the Ziz River, and we will cross the Errachidia Pass over the desert valley.

In Merzouga, we will choose between camels, 4ร—4 cars, or camels for transportation to the camp in the desert. Upon arrival, we will take a moment to appreciate our surroundings, truly experiencing nature as we witness the sunset and enjoy magical nights by staying in the camp.
