  • Day 1 Day 1: Welcome To Lima

      Day 1: Welcome To Lima

      At the moment you arrive in Lima, a team member of Valencia travel will be waiting for you at the airport and take you, on private transport, to your hotel. Then you will have all day to relax and enjoy the beauty of Lima and its surroundings.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Lima To Paracas

      Day 2: Lima To Paracas

      On this fantastic guided tour in Lima you will explore the beautiful and fascinating City of Kings. You will visit iconic places that are rich in history. There will be plenty picturesque churches and exquisite colonial architecture.  Begin your journey by travelling thousands of years into the past. Your first stop will be the ancient ceremonial center called โ€œHuaca Pucllanaโ€, which was built centuries before the arrival of the Spanish. Next you drive into the center of the city so you can stroll around the main square, the Plaza de Armas of Lima. Here you will find imposing architecture which was built long ago. Also, on the main square is the grandiose Lima Cathedral. 


      After lunch, journey by road to Paracas along the Pan American Highway, which cuts through a barren desert landscape. Weโ€™ll stop at the site of the ancient Pachacamac Temple where weโ€™ll be transported back to pre-Incan times as we explore. The ruins consist of adobe walls and pyramids and youโ€™ll also see the remains of early frescoes.


  • Day 3 Day 3: Paracas โ€“ Nazca

      Day 3: Paracas โ€“ Nazca

      Weโ€™re taking to the water today for a fascinating cruise around the Ballestas Islands. Transport to the port by boat (duration: 20-30minutes) to do the BALLESTAS ISLAND TOUR. Paradisiacal environment with a great concentration of fauna and marine flora of the world in a natural state of conservation.


      On the road to Nazca we will find the city of Ica well known and popular for its gastronomy and vineyards, undoubtedly, the most popular for national and foreign tourists who visit the lands of Ica.  The tour of the oldest operational distillery in America will be made. Enjoy 333 years of tradition, we will go to our pisco production plant, which is considered the most modern in Peru. We will also make an exclusive tasting with our 5 most awarded Piscos and we will finish with a typical lunch. Arrival in Nazca around 18h00.


  • Day 4 Day 4: Nazca / Chauchilla Cemetery / Arequipa

      Pick up at the hotel, Weโ€™ll visit the Chauchilla Cemetery, we will find the remains of the most important persons in the Pre-Inca period and the Inca civilizationโ€™s remains, and we will be able to see ceramics, skulls and practically untouched devices. Nazca was one of the most skilled cultures of textiles, multicolored ceramics and techniques of mummification  

       

      Afterward transfer to Arequipa

      Day 5: Arequipa City Tour / Gastronomic Experience

      After Breakfast, the visit of convent Santa Catalina, you have the opportunity to walk around the white city and its surroundings. The architecture in the historic center is characterized by the prominence of ashlar, the use of which begins in the last third of the s. XVI. This volcanic stone, white or pink exceptionally soft, lightweight, and weatherproof, emerged as a seismic structural solution.


      Afterward, Arequipa Gastronomic Experience:

      We start our experience visiting the long-established local market, San Camilo, in downtown Arequipa. Here we will buy the ingredients to prepare the dishes (an entrรฉe and a main dish), then we will go to a family house and start cooking; during the preparation you will be given instructions on how to prepare the dish and also assist the cook. The guide translates all that is said to ensure good communication with the cook and you may ask questions at any time. At the end, you will enjoy the delicious meal you have learned to prepare.


  • Day 6 Day 6: Arequipa - Colca Canyon

      Day 6: Arequipa - Colca Canyon

      Soon after eating a delicious breakfast you will leave the White City behind as you go out on a new adventure in the Colca Valley. You will travel through the verdant countryside until you reach one of the deepest canyons in the world. During your journey you will pass through colorful villages that have been here for thousands of years.


      During the trip you will make a brief stop at the Pampa Caรฑahuas National Reserve where you will see wild Vicuรฑas in their natural habitat. Next stop is the town of Chachani which is surrounded by Andean peaks and is full of llamas and alpacas. White glaciers covering the mountains contrast beautifully with the blue of the sky. The shepherds that are watching their flocks of llamas and alpacas sing out beautiful melodies that help them pass their time out in the fields.


      In the afternoon you will arrive at the town of Chivay which is very close to Colca Canyon. That is where you will check into your hotel which is located just outside of town, and which has an incredible view of the canyon. After checking in you will be able to relax and take it easy for the remainder of the afternoon.



  • Day 7 Day 7: Colca โ€“ Puno

      Day 7: Colca โ€“ Puno

      We will have breakfast around 05h30 and then leave the hotel to go to Cruz Del Condor. This is the point where you can see the depth and beauty of Colca Canyon and where you will hopefully be able to see condors. After this, we head back towards Chivay, visiting a few small villages on the way. We will have lunch in Chivay in the afternoon and then begin the journey to Puno. Once you arrive in Puno, the folklore capital, you will be taken to your hotel where you will stay the night. At night, keep to the main, lit areas. The main street will be obvious and there are lots of little restaurants there. This would be a good time to buy gifts for your host family on your island trip. Gifts are not obligatory but recommended. Suggested gifts are; 1 kilo of sugar, 1 kilo of rice, and a bottle of oil. Practical items such as these are welcome. Please do not take sweets for the children or give your host family money.

  • Day 8 Day 8: Uros & Taquile Islands

      Day 8: Uros & Taquile Islands

      After breakfast, you will go out boat riding on Lake Titicaca. Pick up time at your hotel will be around 07h00. You will go over to the port, board our motor launch, and ride south to the Island of Uros. At Uros the Peruvians who live here maintain their ancient customs and way of life by weaving together totora reeds which grow in the shallows of the Lake. These reeds are used to construct their floating islands and their houses. Afterwards we will sail towards "Taquile Island". At Taquile, you will enjoy a 2-and-a-half-hour tour of the island which has been ranked the fourth most beautiful island in the world. In the community you will eat a wonderful Andean style buffet lunch.


      Here you will visit the isolated weavers of this ancient community. According to pre-Columbian legend, the Incas actually learned how to weave from the artisans of this island. They are very, very skilled weavers. Taquile has been declared to be part of the Cultural Heritage of the Humanity by UNESCO.


      Later in the afternoon, you will then have free time to explore the Island on your own, and afterwards return to Puno.


  • Day 9 Day 9: Puno To Cusco

      Day 9: Puno To Cusco

      We will pick you up at 7:10am and take you to the bus station to catch the bus to Cusco. The bus trip is more like a tour - it stops at four interesting sites along the way where you have guided tours:


      โ€ข Pukara: This is the most important and oldest ceremonial center of the altiplano. There are interesting sculptures and tombs. 

      โ€ข La Raya: This is the halfway point between Cusco and Puno and the highest point (4335 meters above sea level). The landscapes here are stunning and it is common to see typical Andean animals like the llama, alpaca and vicuรฑa. It is also the geographical border between the two cultures - Quechua and Aymara.

      โ€ข Raqchi (Wiracocha God Temple): This was an Inca church of monumental dimensions; 100 meters long, 26 meters wide and 14 meters high. The temple is divided into two naves, and each nave has eleven giant columns โ€“ huge!

      โ€ข Andahuaylillas: This is the Sistine chapel of South America: this church is one of the most beautiful examples of Andean popular religious art.



      Arrival time to Cusco will be around 5pm. 


  • Day 10 Day 10: Sacred Valley โ€“ Aguas Calientes

      Day 10: Sacred Valley โ€“ Aguas Calientes

      Spend the day in the remote village of Huilloc, approximately 40 minutes transfer from your hotel, where youโ€™ll catch a glimpse of the authentic culture of the valleyโ€™s Quechua communities. Youโ€™ll be able to interact with the villagers, share lunch with them and witness their day to day life. The women of Huilloc have a rich tradition of weaving which they still practice by hand today. The textiles they produce bear the same images as those of their ancestors; condors, cougars and Huallata birds, and can be purchased here.


      Afterward, visit to Ollantaytambo, which is surrounded by the sacred mountains. In Ollantaytambo, we get further exposure to Incan constructions, mainly the amazing temple of the sun, enormous blocks of rock perfectly carved and polished, stone water fountains, stairs and terraces, transfer to Train Station Ollantaytambo. The train leaves at 16h43 (time may change depending on availability and changes to timetable). After a 2 hours journey of majestic views you arrive to Aguas Calientes (Hot Springs Town) where you will spend the night. There will be plenty of time to relax if you want to have a hot bath in the natural springs!


  • Day 11 Day 11: Aguas Calientes โ€“ Cusco

      Day 11: Aguas Calientes โ€“ Cusco

      Wake up early for breakfast before our guide will pick you up from your hotel at 05h40 to begin the short bus journey to the gates of Machu Picchu where you will watch the sunrise. After entering the Citadel begin a guided walking tour (approximately two hours) of the citadel complex. After this experience, enjoy some free time to explore the mysterious city at leisure.

      This afternoon, you will take the bus down to Aguas Calientes for lunch later we will board the train back to Poroy. Upon your arrival to the train station, we will pick you up and take you back to your hotel in Cusco.


  • Day 12 Day 12: Cusco To Lima

      Day 12: Cusco To Lima

      After breakfast, youโ€™ll have a full Cusco city tour, During the Cusco City Tour you will discover the beauty and the magic of Cusco, the Imperial Capital of the Incas. Your tour starts at the Koricancha and the Santo Domingo church. According to the Chroniclers who wrote during the period directly after the Spanish Conquest, the Koricancha was the most sacred and the most important site in the Quechua world. The walls of the Koricancha were covered with gold. There were life-size statues of plants and animals made out of pure gold and silver. Next will be the Cusco Cathedral where you can appreciate the works of the Cusco School of painters, and also the gold and silver relief work on the main altar and the pulpit.


      The next stop on your tour will be the imposing Fortress of Sacsayhuaman. Here you will note the stones that form the walls are the size of a truck. They have been carefully cut and perfectly fitted together. Sacsayhuaman is a very impressive Incan construction. From here you will head up the hill to the Tambomachay Archeological Complex. This was an important ceremonial center during Inca times. It is sometimes called the Bath of the Incas, and the cult of water used to perform their rites here. Finally, you will return to Cusco.


      Afterward, transfer to Cusco Airport for your flight to Lima. On arrival at Lima airport a transfer will be arranged to the hotel.
