About experience

There is so much to see in Provence but this tour steps back a little and goes at a slower pace. Start by a local weekly market to discover typical Provencal products (Tuesday in Gordes, Thursday in Roussillon and Sunday in Isle-sur-la-Sorgue).

Visit the old fishing village of Isle-sur-la-Sorgue and its antique market. Head to the hilltop village of Gordes with its limestone buildings. Stop at Senanque Abbey surrounded by lavender fields in Summer (from mid-June to mid-August to see the violet flowers in full bloom, and admire the beautiful countryside the rest of the year). Thenย to Roussillon, take a stroll along the ochre path. A tasting of Luberon wine before heading back to Avignon where your tour will end.

Tour leaving from Avignon

Avignon, in southeastern France, is a walled medieval city famous for the Palace of the Popes, a 14th-century Gothic fortress. The Avignon Bridge, known as the Saint-Bรฉnรฉzet Bridge, is another tourist attraction. Avignon is also famous for its theater festival, which attracts artists from all over the world. In addition, its old town with cobbled streets and charming squares is perfect for getting lost and discovering the essence of the city. Provenรงal cuisine is another highlight of Avignon, with delicious and aromatic dishes.
