Swim in fresh water cenotes, and snorkel coral reefs with many exotic species of wildlife. And let's not forget enjoying some of the tastiest cuisine of the Yucatán Peninsula.
9:00 am - 9:00 pm Introduction to the Yucatán Peninsula
You’ll be met at the Cancun airport by a LocalAdventures representative and driven to your eco-friendly hotel in Tulum. Depending on the time you arrive at your hotel, we suggest a good meal and to relax on the beach before the following day’s excursions.
Your accommodations are a single or double room at Las Palmas Maya a boutique hotel walking distance to the beach in Tulum. (If this hotel does not suit you, accommodation changes or upgrades can be made upon request).
9:00 am - 5:00 pm Coba Ruins, Tulum Ruins, & Cenote Swim
We will begin the excursion in the Riviera Maya visiting the archaeological zone of Tulum, one of the most beautiful places of the Riviera Maya that contrasts the beauty of the Mayan buildings with the incredible blue of the Caribbean Sea.
After the visiting the Tulum ruins we will go to a Beach Club in Playa Paraíso where we will have time to swim and enjoy the white sands of the beautiful beach. Here we will have some lunch tasting some exquisite food of the region.
Now it's time to hike Coba! On the way to the Nochoc Mul pyramid (138’ high and 120 stairs) we will have the opportunity to be one with nature and observe many species of birds and animals of the region. We will end the day swimming in a beautiful freshwater cenote before heading back to the hotel.
8:00 am - 5:00 pm Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve
We will take a 4x4 Jeep of up to 5 people and off-road to Punta Allen where the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve is located, a place that has beautiful mangroves, virgin jungle and more than 350 species of animals.
We will then jump on a boat tour through the mangroves, to the open sea where we will most likely see white turtles, manatees and dolphins in their natural habitat. Time to snorkel the second largest coral reef in the world!
After snorkeling take some time to relax and bath in the sun of a beautiful beach called "La Piscina". A delicious dish will be waiting for us in the beautiful town of Punta Allen. After our late lunch we will return back to the hotel in Tulum.
7:00 am - 8:00 pm Chichen Itza, Ek Balam and Cenote Ik Kil.
After crossing several villages we will visit an ancient Mayan city of Chichén Itzá. Once there our archaeological guide will show us the amazing constructive and acoustic techniques used by the Mayan civilization while building the pyramids.
Before a delicious traditional meal we will enjoy a swim in the cenote of Ik Kil, a cenote with a special charm with beautiful lianas and water filtrations.
After lunch we will have time to hike around the archaeological ruins of Ek Balam. These Mayan ruins were built more than 2,000 years ago. We can climb to the top and enjoy the same spectacular panoramas as the ancient civilization.
9:00 am - 9:00 pm Reflection Day. Back to reality.
Take a deep breathe and reflect on the amazing memories you’ve created as you look out across that turquoise water one last time before heading back to reality.
